While on its 50 state tour, ABC's Emmy Award winning reality show 'Extreme Makeover | Home Edition made it's stop in the Hawaiian Islands. What will be the 100th episode of the series, Hawaii and the small non profit Keiki O Ka Aina will be honorary stewards that usher in their 5th season on September 30th. With it's largest build to date, the Extreme Makeover Home Edition team and an outpouring of volunteers and community support built two structures to house the Akana Ohana and the non profit offices of Keiki O Ka Aina in 7 days. This portion of our web site is dedicated to them.
Brookfield Homes Hawaii, a local venture with one on of the largest US home building companies took on the task to construct a large plantation style home and a two story building that will house the Akana family and the non profit Keiki O Ka Aina offices. Despite a large open workspace to build on, Brookfield Homes worked against many odds with the weather and the tiny little two lane road deep in Kalihi valley. More about Brookfield Homes and links to their website along with many photos of the project.
