KOKA's Hawaii Early Learning Partnerships for Childcare (HELP Childcare) Project builds accessible, culturally competent, high-quality childcare for Hawaiian children under age 13. The three pronged program provides stipends to qualified families to assist with the costs of center-based preschool and daycare, family and in-home care, as well as afterschool care.
It focuses on quality improvement for preschools and family care through active mentorship, and accreditation support. The project also helps to educate parents and providers regarding child development and identification of quality care, including training in developmental and social-emotional screenings.
